JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLEWelder1X Day Shift  and 1X Night Shift

JOB PURPOSE:  Working in our Production team you will be responsible for manufacturing a range of standard and non-standard products to drawing, on time and to a high standard of work and have the ability to work under minimal supervision and to deadlines.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General duties:

  • Setting up the components and equipment for the welding process as per Job Card.
  • Preparing materials and setting up jigs to ensure safe and effective assembly.
  • Interpreting specifications and drawings accurately, to ensure product is within specification and within tolerance.
  • Set up and operate MIG and/or TIG welding equipment
  • Willing to participate in cross functional departmental training
  • Assist to maintain housekeeping standards throughout the factory / warehouse and yard – this should be given the highest of priorities at all times to ensure safe working practices and a professional company image.
  • Contribute to Lean manufacturing practices and maintain 5S in the welding area (would be advantages but not essential)
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including PPE use and safe working practices

Key Skills:

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Be a quick learner and have a positive attitude to work, colleagues and management at all time.
  • Dexterity and practical skills, along with being a clear, logical thinker.
  • Be computer literate and proficient with IT systems within a manufacturing environment.
  • An individual who is highly motivated and energetic.
  • Ability to communicate well at all levels.
  • The ability to keep track of key information – attention to detail is essential.
  • Tenacity to seek out information and correct answers.

A MIG weld test will be part of the interview process, so please come prepared with safety boots, overalls, gloves etc.
